Haryana Tourism & Surajkund Mela Authority, Haryana, India invites Foreign Cultural Troupes/ Artisans to participate in the 35th Surajkund International Crafts Mela from 4-20 February, 2022.

Every year a Country/Nation and an Indian State are selected as “Partner Country” and “Theme State” respectively. This year the United Kingdom has been selected as “Partner Country” and Jammu & Kashmir as the “Theme State”. The Mela is now the largest handicrafts fair in the world and had a footfall of more than a million visitors during 2020, organized every year in Surajkund, Haryana, Near Delhi, by Haryana Tourism Department to promote handicrafts items.

A country can participate by sending vibrant cultural troupes or artisans/crafts persons who could showcase the handicraft heritage of their respective country. The Surajkund Mela Authority will provide free boarding, lodging and airport transportation from Delhi Airport to the Mela ground during their stay in the Mela, (except Airfare and any other fee including professional fee, if applicable).

Europe is famous for its glass, ceramics, leather and myriad other handicrafts and would be a great initiative from European artists participation at this Mela. It is also the 75th year of India’s independence and would be a very appropriate forum for further binding of the Cultural ties between the respective countries and would be a great initiative from the Ministry.
