A new passport can be issued on the expiry, or up to one year before expiry, of any passport, which had an initial validity of 10 years. To apply for a new passport under lost and damaged category, you need to submit the following:

1. Duly filled and printed online application form with one ink signatures last page in signature box. Kindly mention proper Indian address in application form for purpose of Police verification (two addresses are required in the application form, one address should be from India and other/current address in Foreign country).

2. Photograph, to be uploaded online, should be as per as per ICAO standards strictly from 01 September 2025. Upload photo and signature as per the official guidelines : ICAO Photo Guidelines and Signature Guidelines

3. Current passport (Mandatory) if damaged. In case of lost passport, applicant needs to submit a police complaint regarding the loss of passport along with a declaration for lost of passport Lost passport declaration

4. Self-attested copies of first and last page of your current passport

5. Self-attested copies of your residence permit (both sides) 6. Proof of payment for minor SEK 2033/- (for 36 page booklet) for adult SEK 2360/- (for 36-page booklet) or SEK 2828/- or (for 60-page booklet) Bank Giro No. 5816-4930

7. Latest Personbevis in English (Extract of Population Register) issued by Skatteverket under applicant’s name.

8. In case the applicant wishes the document to be sent back to him/ her by post, he/ she is requested to send a self-addressed envelope bearing a bar code number with waybill (Rekommenderat brev) generated through Post Nord (https://portal.postnord.com/skickadirekt).
