GUIDELINES FOR KNOW INDIA PROGRAMME (KIP)

1. INTRODUCTION

The Know India Programme (KIP), launched in 2003–04, is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. It connects young members of the Indian diaspora with their ancestral roots and offers them an opportunity to experience India’s cultural heritage, economic transformation, innovation, and scientific and technological progress as the country advances towards Viksit Bharat @2047.

The Programme also aims to inspire young members of the diaspora to contribute to India’s developmental journey.

2. ABOUT THE 90TH EDITION OF KIP

The 90th edition of KIP will be held from 18 to 31 October 2026 for Young Professionals aged 24–28 years.

The Programme is open to youth of Indian origin, including Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously visited India.

3. DURATION

The Programme will run for two weeks, inclusive of travel time.

4. APPLICATION DEADLINE

Interested applicants should submit the KIP Application Form 2026 and supporting documents to the Embassy of India, Stockholm, by 28 September 2026 at culture.stockholm@mea.gov.in, with a copy to hoc.stockholm@mea.gov.in.

Supporting documents include educational qualification certificate(s), a copy of the passport, a recent passport-size colour photograph, and a PIO/OCI card or NRI certificate, as applicable.
