GUIDELINES FOR KNOW INDIA PROGRAMME (KIP)
- INTRODUCTION
The Know India Programme (KIP), launched in 2003–04, is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, aimed at strengthening engagement with young members of the Indian diaspora and connecting them with their ancestral roots.
The Programme provides participants an opportunity to experience and appreciate contemporary India’s growth and development across diverse sectors as the country progresses towards Viksit Bharat @2047. It seeks to acquaint participants with India’s rich cultural heritage, economic transformation, innovation and start-up ecosystem, scientific and technological advancements, and other important facets of modern India.
The Programme also aims to motivate and inspire young members of the Indian diaspora to contribute to and participate in India’s developmental journey.
- ABOUT THE 88TH EDITION OF KIP
The 88th edition of the Know India Programme will be organized from 16 to 29 August 2026 for Young Professionals in the age group of 24–28 years.
Under this edition, 25 youth members of the Indian diaspora, including Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), will be invited to visit India for a two-week programme.
- DURATION
The duration of the 88th Know India Programme is two weeks, inclusive of travel time.

Interested applicants may submit their applications to the Embassy of India, Stockholm, latest by 16 July 2026.
