 INDIA STEEL EXPO 2017 

1. 3rd edition of INDIA STEEL EXPO 2017 is being organized by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India along with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) from April 20-22, 2017 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India.  Ministry of External Affairs is extending its support to the event.

2. India Steel Expo 2017 provides an unique opportunity to International Steel Producers, Technology Companies to showcase their equipment, latest technology and their best practices through Live demonstrations in 10,000 sq. meters of exhibition area, an excellent platform to buyers, sellers, technology providers, manufacturers, traders, importers, investors, plant heads/ procurement managers, government steel procurement departments, PSUs, Infrastructure oil & gas pipeline and real estate construction material suppliers/ EPC contractors, automobile manufacturers, railway shipping defence vendors, rolling mill importers and other allied organizations/ institutions from Steel industry and business journalists to interact and develop healthy business relationship with Indian steel industry.

4. FICCI, with financial assistance of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India is organising a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM) for the first time during India Steel Expo 2017. More than 300 Foreign Buyers from Africa, CIS, Middle East, Developing Asia including SAARC and other important regions will be invited and hosted by the organisers. We are enclosing herewith Exhibitor Profile as Annexure 1 to give a clear understanding of the Exhibitors who will be participating during the event and will be available for the organized B-2-B meetings with the Hosted Foreign Buyers.

5. The main objective of organising RBSM during the event is to have scheduled B-2-B and B-2-G meetings with the delegates from across the globe. The RBSM will help to:

      Inform the foreign delegates about the steel products manufactured in India.

      Provide an insight of quality and cost advantages of Indian steel products.

       Establish business linkages for procurement of steel manufactured in India.

      Attract technology tie-ups, collaborations, and joint ventures with Indian steel manufacturers.

      Encourage foreign investment to new areas of the Indian steel sector.

      Bring best practices in the sector from around the world.

      Increase the trade in steel sector with India.

6. As a part of hospitality, organisers shall decide on the quantum of facilities and hospitalities to be granted to the buyers and shall provide depending on the profile, both side economy class air fare reimbursement, 5 star hotel accommodation with breakfast near to the event venue for 3 nights (check-in on 19th April and check-out on 22nd April 2017), local transport, meals during networking lunches/ dinners and other suitable arrangements to the Hosted Foreign Buyers for their visit to INDIA STEEL EXPO 2017.

7. We would also like to inform you that the organisers will host 8-10 delegates per country selected by the screening committee strictly on merit on FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS and subject to appropriateness of profile. A token amount of USD 100/- against refundable registration fee shall be payable by all the buyers upon their arrival, at the hotel. The tentative deadlines for Hosting Foreign Buyers are as below:

Last date for receipt of recommended delegates’ complete details from Indian missions abroad, Foreign missions in India and Industry leaders.

10-FEB-2017.

Preliminary shortlisting and compilation of list of Invitees by FICCI.

12-FEB-2017.

FICCI request email to preliminary shortlisted delegates to register on event website within 7 days with complete profile, photograph, Photo ID, visiting card and copy of valid passport. Concerned mission will be copied in this mail to enable their immediate follow-up.

15-JAN-2017 TO 20-FEB-2017.

After both ‘Registration Received’ and ‘Registration Approved’emails and Visa Invitation Letter are received by the BUYER on his registered email, he is required to send his tentative economy air-ticket and Performa Invoice/ Quotation of that ticket for approval by FICCI.

BY 28-FEB-2017.

Approval Email specifying permissible reimbursement amount and requesting the buyer for his consent and purchase of ticket by him.

BY 07-MAR-2017.

Purchase of Air Tickets by Buyer and sending scanned copy of the same to FICCI.

BY 07-MAR-2017.

Buyer to apply for relevant Indian VISA.

BY 07-MAR-2017.

Last date of Receipt of scanned copy of VISA by FICCI. Kindly note that Accommodation and other arrangements shall be cancelled UPON NON-RECEIPT OF A COPY OF VALID VISA on time.

BY 07-APR-2017.

Welcome email from FICCI to delegates about Airport pick-up facilities, accommodation, local transport, meals and other arrangements.

BY 17-APR-2017.

Payment of a token amount of USD 100/- against refundable registration fee and collection of B2B Kits from FICCI Helpdesk during check-in at the hotel.

ON 19-APR-2017.

Refund of registration fee amount of USD 100/- during check-out.

ON 22-APR-2017.



8. The Screening Committee of FICCI constituted under Hosted Foreign Buyer Program will review specific buyer details and decide on the quantum of facilities and hospitalities to be granted to the buyer. Buyer Registration Forms received after due date shall not be considered for any benefits. The Buyers not selected under this Hosted Foreign Buyer Program by the screening committee are welcome to visit India Steel Expo 2017 on their own expenses.
