6th International Exhibition & Conference on Technical Textiles, Technotex 2017, in Mumbai, India, from 12-14 April 2017

The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, in association with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), is organizing ‘Technotex 2017’, from 12-14 April 2017 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India, with a theme ‘Advantage India: Emerging Global Manufacturing Hub for Technical Textiles’. Technotex is a series of International Exhibitions and Conferences. The sixth edition of Technotex will provide a platform for stakeholders from across the value chain to interact and forge alliances with textiles industries from across the globe.

2.        Technical textiles are high performance textiles which find application not only in clothing but in areas such as agriculture, medical, infrastructure development, automotive, aerospace, sports, protective clothing, packaging, etc. While the global market size of Technical textiles was estimated to be approximately US $281 billion in the Financial Year 2014-15, Technical textiles industry  in India is at a nascent state and is expected to attain a market size of US $17.5 billion (approximately) by 2017-18.

3.        The fifth edition of this series, held in 2016 on the theme “Technical Textiles: Towards a Smart Future”, was an extremely successful endeavour garnering participation from Industry across the globe. The event attracted 6602 manufacturers and 340 delegates from countries like Taiwan, China, USA, Japan, Switzerland, Luxembourg, UK, Belgium, France, Russia, Spain, Germany and others. More than 60 International companies combined with a huge domestic participation propelled the success of Technotex 2016.

4.        Technotex 2017 will attract participation from stakeholders in technical textile sector as well as major institutional buyers from Army, Navy, Paramilitary forces, Railways, Border Roads Organizations, Hospitals, Construction companies, etc. The event will be largely supported by all related industry associations.
