Advisory against fraudulent telephone calls

Embassy of India, Stockholm has received a few complaints regarding a fraudulent telephone call in which a person is asked to deposit a certain amount for rectifying an error in his travel or residence document. It may be noted that a telephone number allotted to Embassy of India, Stockholm is being used for this purpose. While concerned authorities in Sweden have been informed about this, all are advised to be alert against such a call and not to make any payment asked by the caller. 

It may be recalled that on 18th June 2016 this Embassy had alerted against such incidents in other countries of Europe. Once again, all are advised to be careful about such calls. In case of any doubt, you may directly call following officers of the Embassy:
