Expression of Interest for manufacturing partnership under “Make in India” - BEML

BEML Limited is a leading multi-technology and multi-location company under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, offering high-quality products for diverse sectors of the economy such as coal, mining, steel, cement, power, irrigation, construction, road building, aviation, defence, metro and railways. Established in 1964, the company operates in three major business verticals viz., Defence & Aerospace, Rail & Metro and Mining & Construction. The three verticals are serviced by nine manufacturing units located at Bangalore, Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), Mysore and Palakkad.

In order to have greater thrust on Make in India, enhancing self-reliance in defence production and to leverage BEML’s strengths and leadership position in all the three business verticals and synergizing these with the huge potential, BEML is inviting reputed OEM’s who are looking to establish a manufacturing base in India for seeking manufacturing and technology partnerships.

It may not be out of place to mention that under its recent policy reforms for defence production, Government of India has raised the FDI limit in the defence manufacturing under automatic route from 49% to 74%.

Expression of Interest has been floated for the following modes of cooperation or any other structure that may in the best interest of contracting parties:

  1. Joint Ventures

  2. Joint Manufacturing

  3. Technology Licensing

  4. Contract Manufacturing

  5. Know-how transfer arrangement
